On-Site Dance and Karate Lessons
Children benefit from any and all opportunities to expand their areas of interest. It may take some children attempts at many different activities before they find one or two that sticks and is worth the effort to find those interests that provide your child with opportunities for pursuits outside of scholastics.

Movement and exercise is detrimentally lacking in so many of our nation's children, yet children possess a natural love and ease of movement. To focus that natural energy through organized instruction is to engage the mind as well as discipline the body.
Many children are not able take advantage of dance or karate due most of all to their parent's hectic work schedules; there is not a lot of time left at the end of the day for taxiing the kids from one lesson or practice to another across town.

Most childcare institutions and schools rely too heavily on processed foods such as chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. Aside from being inadequate for supporting a growing body and intellect, processed foods actually exacerbate symptoms of ADD and ADHD, interfere with concentration, and create sugar spikes characterized by an inability to focus followed by extreme tiredness or sugar crash.

Building Security
We utilize a PIN-based, touch-screen computer system to allow entry into the building. No one without an assigned PIN can enter our building. Each family member and employee receives a unique PIN that is deactivated the moment they disenroll or their employment is teminated. We were frightened to learn that most schools do not deactivate PINs.

The PIN-controlled main entry is the only way to gain entrance to Little Leprechaun Academy. All fire exits operate one-way only and cannot be opened from the outside.
Child Security and Safety
Little Leprechaun maintains a list of authorized pick-up persons for each student. If we do not immediately recognize a person who is attempting to pick up the child, we will check ID and phone the parent if necessary.

It is alarming that far too many child care institutions rely on passenger vans for the transportation of children. Countless studies have proven and news stories have shown

the potentially tragic results of transporting young children using passenger vans. In fact, The Motor Vehicle Safety Act prohibits the sale or lease of such vehicles to schools for transporting students if that vehicledoes not meet stringent federal school bus safety standards.
It is simply unconscionable, in our opinion, to put the health and safety of children in jeopardy just to save a few thousand dollars.
It has always been Little Leprechaun's policy to transport students using only safe, NTSB-approved school buses. Statistics reveal that school buses are as much as 170 times safer than ordinary passenger vehicles.
Innovations in Family Involvement
We have overheard other child care and early education providers condemn parent visits because they are a "distraction" or a "bother". Our philosophy is quite the opposite. We want our parents to drop in. We want our parents to be involved in the planning of special events and activities. And most of all, we want our parents to tell us how we can make Little Leprechaun the best school in the market!

Little Leprechaun maintains an open door policy for all the parents. By visiting the school and participating in school activities, parents get a real-world perspective of how their children are spending their day. Parents are welcome to drop by the center at any time, for any reason.
We believe that a child's early education experience is an extension of family life, not separate from it.

Before and After School Program Innovations
Most childcare institutions will accept older children for after school and holiday care, but they really haven't shown much concern for the quality of care provided or for the age-appropriateness of the activities provided.

At Little Leprechaun, we know these are formative years study habits are developed, peer pressures are encountered, and guidance is needed to help youngsters develop the moral fortitude and principles that will see them through their teen years.
Our school age programs address these unique concerns by providing kids with a safe and fun atmosphere for socialization, special activities for school holidays and closings, homework help, foreign language instruction, physical activities and more.
Since we're open at 6:30am, many parents bring their children to the Academy for a hot breakfast and supervision to the morning bus. After seeing the kids safely off the bus in the afternoon, a healthy snack is provided, and even a homestyle dinner if your kids are there after 6:00pm.
