Preschool Program
Preschool for 31â„2 to 41â„2 year-old children
This level of preschool adds yet more structure than early preschool while staying developmentally appropriate. We continue to build on knowledge and experiences, and work with each child at their individual level and according to their individual ways of learning and expression. We encourage children to utilize all of their senses, both physical and emotional. Children are given the chance to experience a broad range of ideas and expression through a variety of music, art, and language activities. Social growth is further encouraged through play activities that foster problem solving skills.
Preschool for 41â„2 to 51â„2 year-old children
Skills learned in early preschool are broadened and Kindergarten readiness skills in writing, reading, math, and science are introduced.Activities are designed to expand your child's perception beyond the immediate here and now, with activities that promote planning, predicting, revisiting, and revising. Now is an ideal age to teach children to experience alternate perspectives academically and also the social perspectives of others. We encourage them to "consider all angles." With peer relations, we teach children to appreciate and embrace individual and cultural differences.

Your Preschooler’s Day at Little Leprechaun
Our teachers build upon what preschoolers are accustomed to from previous classrooms by using environments and daily schedules with which the children are already familiar. For example, both toddler and preschool classes include a Manipulatives center. But while in the toddler classroom the children connected bears, in the preschool classroom they are matching patterns. Children began working on social skills while in the toddler class, and now that skill is taken one step further to encouraging awareness of another person's experiences and point of view. Each progression takes place within schedule and activity frameworks that are already familiar to the children.
